Take Action! Don't Drill Our Coasts
Send a message today that our coasts are off limits.

Padre Island National Park, with over 130,000 acres of protected area, is a jewel of our national parks system. With Kemp's Ridley and Loggerhead Sea Turtles, American Alligators, Pelicans, Kangaroo Rats and so much more, Padre Island is a haven for many species and an area that must be protected as part of our natural heritage for future generations. But overpopulation, trash from the gulf that accumulates on the beach and global warming all threaten Padres Island, we must take action now before it is too late.

Over the years, the Sierra Club has played a major role in protecting Padre Island and making sure that we preserve it for future generations. We aide the National Park Service organize the bi-annual trash clean ups and in the past the Sierra Club has sued in order to try to protect the park from oil/gas drilling, and even though we tragically lost the suit the Sierra Club is still fighting to overturn this decision.
