Take Action! Protect America's Natural Heritage
Support urgent and bold action to protect, preserve and restore America's wildlands.

Yellowstone National Park, with over two million acres of protected area and our nation's first National Park is a jewel of our national parks system. With Old Faithful Geyser, Mammoth Hot Springs, Norris Geyser Basin, Tower-Roosevelt, Yellowstone Volcano, bison, wolves and grizzly bears, Yellowstone is an area that must be protected as part of our natural heritage for future generations. But the global warming threatens this area, and we must take action now before it is too late.

Over the years, the Sierra Club has played a major role in protecting Yellowstone and making sure that we preserve it for future generations. We have played a major role in reintroducing the wolf into its natural habitat in Yellowstone in addition to lobbying congress against the delisting of the wolf and Grizzly Bear from the endangered species list. The Sierra Club is also working to lower snow mobile use in the park as well as get more funding for Yellowstone, and protect the park from global warming - the hotter and dryer it gets in the forest, the harder it is to manage the forest and protect the species.
