Call for Nominations

May is the time to nominate deserving volunteers for the Sierra Club's 2002 awards. Do you know someone who's a fundraising whiz, a consummate collaborator or under 30 and making a difference environmentally? Nominate them by June 1 for one of the Club's many awards.

Go to www.sierraclub.org/history/awards for nomination forms and a complete list of awards.

Nominees Sought for Goldman Prize

Know any environmental heroes? Someone who has shown creativity and courage in the struggle to defend our natural world? Don't keep it a secret. The Goldman Prize, often referred to as the "Nobel Prize for the Environment," is awarded each year to six outstanding grassroots environmentalists, one from each inhabited continent. The Sierra Club has been asked to provide North American nominations.

This prestigious prize recognizes outstanding achievement on anything from protecting rivers and forests to fighting toxic pollution in disadvantaged communities. Contact Sam Parry at sam.parry@sierraclub.org with your suggested nominee. Deadline is May 18.

For more information on the award and for a list of past recipients, go to www.goldmanprize.org.
