Bush Administration Denies Funding to the United Nations Population Fund, Again!

The Bush Administration recently announced that, for the fourth consecutive year, it will withhold the United States's $34 million contribution to the United Nations Population Fund. This decision not only jeopardizes the health and lives of women around the world, but also the health of the environment.

To date, this Administration has withheld $127 million in funds already appropriated by Congress. One year's withheld funding could prevent as many as 2 million unwanted pregnancies and 4,700 maternal deaths in developing countries.

Learn more and write a message to Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice -- let her know that as an environmentalist and an advocate for women's rights, you believe the U.S should fund UNFPA's life-saving programs!
