It's Time to Increase Funding for Family Planning in the U.S.
Family planning assistance programs worldwide have prevented unintended pregnancies, reduced the number of abortions performed, lowered the rates of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and overall improved women's health. Family planning programs allow women to make healthy, safe decisions for themselves, their children, and ultimately chart a course for an improved quality of life. In addition to protecting the health of Americans, Title X programs support environmental health as well. Meeting the basic needs for family planning and reproductive health services today is essential to improving our environmental future.
Join Sierra Club's Global Population and Environment Program and the National Family Planning and Reproductive Health Association (NFPRHA) and call upon the Bush administration to increase funding for Title X, the National Family Planning Program. Demand that President Bush fund Title X at $670 million in the 2007 budget!
Act today! Become part NFPRHA's "Power of Ten" campaign and send a letter to President Bush demanding funding for the Title X program in the 2007 budget! Then, tell at least ten friends to take action by forwarding them this email.
