Program Updates
Our Team has Grown!
During January, we were thrilled to welcome Ani Zamgochian to our Global Population and Environment Program Team. Ani brings a wealth of organizing experience on international development and environmental issues, having served as a summer Field Office Coordinator for the Foundation for Sustainable Development, an organization that supports the efforts of grassroots development organizations in Latin America, East Africa, and Asia. She also worked as Grants Coordinator for the Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund at Conservation International, promoting effective conservation of select biodiversity hotspots in developing countries throughout Latin America, Asia and Africa. Welcome Ani!

California Student Leadership Training
This March, we will be conducting a youth leadership training for activists in California, as a follow-up to our successful "Sex and Environment California Tour" last November 2007. One of the featured tour speakers was Edna Cano, a Belizean teacher and former fellow with International Health Program's Youth Leadership in Sexuality Education Program, GoJoven! She discussed the health and environmental challenges facing Belize, including deforestation, water pollution and high rates of teen pregnancy. Our March leadership training dates will be available soon. If you're interested in getting involved, e-mail Cassie Gardener.
