How We Can and Will Stop Climate Change
If we want to stop climate change, scientists agree that we need to cut our global warming emisisssions by 80 percent by 2050.
That might sound like a lot, but it translates to a reduction of only two percent a year, if we start now.

A study prepared by the American Solar Energy Association and the Sierra Club documents that we can stay on that two percent a year downward emissions path simply by deploying exisiting technologies and increasing efficiency. Add in new natural gas resources and potential new technologies like carbon sequestration, and it become clear that the goal is economically and scientifically achievable. We just need political leadership and will.
