Our Correspondents:
What They're Driving: Toyota Prius GMC Yukon
Distance Traveled
So Far:
520 miles 504 miles
Gallons used: 11.7 30.89
How much
spent on gas:
$17.13 $45.86
Brightest moment: Taking in the great turn-out at the event. Looking around at all the folks who came out to the press event and having lunch with fellow Sierrans
Oddest moment: Homegrown citrus rolling around the floor during test drives with the county commissioners. (Thanks to Sierra Club volunteer Mary Slater Linn.) 10:00 PM visit to the famed psychics of Casadega -- surreal. Found a 24-hour psychic to gaze at our palms and discern the murky pathways of our future.
Best breather: Breaking away for lunch with Grandma. Hanging with the Wildlife Advocacy folks who showed us their 20-foot-long inflatable manatee
Best food: Organic grapefruit...from the collection in the back seat. The Bit O' Honey's I got at the gas station...haven't had them since I was a kid.
Saddest farewell: Saying so long to Beth Hollenbach and her great Eco-Action store in Orlando (closing doors after 10 great years). Leaving this really, really cool used bookstore/coffeehouse in Orlando.
Best Casadega psychic prediction: Much happiness in both work and relationships. (Pretty vague, but I’ll take it). Economic prosperity in my future! The Sierra Club is poised to give me a raise! He couldn’t get a fix on upcoming Senate energy vote, but intoned that "good will always triumph over evil," which is good to know.
Most random Casadega psychic prediction: My mom needs to see an optometrist. I’ll eat more fiber when I'm old.
Most boring Casadega psychic prediction: Mounds of paperwork ahead – pretty much the same as Joe. I’ll have a lot of paperwork to do. Also, seems I’ll be driving some ways before returning home. But since I’d told him we started in Tampa that hardly counts.

Tune in tomorrow when Darden and Joe go to Gainesville.
