Heidi the Hybrid in the Race for Clean Air
The Republican National Commitee has Reggie the Registration Rig. The Sierra Club has Heidi the Hybrid.
Reggie, an 18-wheeler equipped with Xboxes and plasma screen TVs (and a bunch of other crap) is criss-crossing America, burning beaucoup fuel in its drive to register young voters. Heidi, meanwhile, is right on Reggie's heels, going way farther on every (godawful expensive) gallon o' gas while educating the same young folks about the Bush administration's assault on the environment.
Not a race exactly, but a mission to be sure. It's like our very own Road Rules; or, for you Gen-Xers, like the Mach Five vs. the Mammoth Car in a race for the future. Nobody knows what might happen out there on the long, hot American blacktop, but we'll keep you posted with regular dispatches from Meighan, Katya and Paul -- Heidi's illustrious pit crew.
