Meet your tour guides:
In order to walk the talk, Billy and Meighan are off to Detroit and
their first stop on the tour in a new 2003 Toyota Prius hybrid. Says Billy: “We're going to see if
we can make it all the way to Detroit on one tank of gas. WOOHOO!
Wish us luck!”

Tales from the Road: Day 3
Rockin' Pittsburgh!
What a drive! After leaving the show in Detroit, we hauled a-- all the way
out to Pittsburgh, PA, for a show the very next day! Rolling into town around
3 am, we collapsed into our beds and didn't move until our third alarm in
the morning.
Pittsburgh was a great show. A really progressive (aka punk rock and metal)
contingent was on hand for the concert, and was psyched to help out with
our activism for the day. In Pittsburgh, we focused on our judicial
nominations campaign, and asked people to take pictures and write letters we
could send to Arlen Specter (Pennsylvania senator) urging him to oppose the nomination
of extremist judges like William Pryor (above, yo).
Pryor, as Attorney General for
Alabama, said that he believes that the Clean Water Act is unconstitutional,
and that environmental justice cases "should generally fail." Not a very
impressive resume for a judge who, if appointed, would have to decide cases
ranging from Clean Air cases in Georgia to Everglades cases in Florida.
We generated more than 200 new Pennsylvania activists for our judicial nomination campaign,
and took 60 "oppose Pryor" pictures that we sent to Specter on Tuesday.
After the show, we hit the road again, on to Akron, Ohio.
