Sierra Club Chronicles is now in distribution. Produced by Robert Greenwald's Brave New Films in association with Sierra Club Productions (SCP), Chronicles' seven half hour episodes capture the extraordinary efforts of ordinary people across America who are united in common cause - the fight to protect their families, communities and the lands and livelihoods they love from pollution, corporate greed and short-sighted government policies.

SCP is proud to underwrite the third season of KRCB's Emmy and Telly Award winning Natural Heroes public television series which is now in production. Also set to broadcast later in 2007 on public television stations is Kilowatt Ours Ours which SCP has underwritten in part. Filmmaker Jeff Barrie takes viewers on a journey from the coal mines of West Virginia to the solar panel fields in Florida and across America as he discovers solutions to our energy related problems.

Other energy themed productions the division is involved with are Native Wind, a documentary about harnessing wind power on tribal lands, co-produced with American Spirit Productions and the Intertribal Commission on Utility Power, and another film from the producers of The Appalachians which SCP is supporting through underwriting: Coal Power shares the personal narratives of residents and activists fighting against mountaintop removal mining.

Other completed films include Ansel Adams: A Documentary Film co-produced with Ric Burns' Steeplechase Films. The feature-length documentary aired on PBS's American Experience and earned an Alfred I. duPont - Columbia University Silver Baton, a Golden Cine award, and a News and Documentary Emmy Award. Vertical Frontier is a feature length documentary about the history of rock climbing in Yosemite from Kristi Denton Cohen's Peloton Productions in association with SCP.

Last fall, Sierra Club Productions partnered with Participant Productions in Oil Change, the action campaign for the feature film "Syriana," about the politics of oil starring George Clooney, Matt Damon, and Jeffrey Wright. Previous collaborations include outreach on the PBS documentary Thirst, on the issue of water privatization, and Oil on Ice, a film on the debate over drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.

Sierra Club underwrote in part the three-hour public television series The Appalachians about the history of the land, people and music of the region. Sierra Club is also proud to support Monumental, a feature documentary about conservation legend and former Sierra Club executive director David Brower.

Sierra Club Productions develops literary projects as well as true stories, commissions original concepts, and partners with production companies to co-produce and co-market projects. SCP's goal is to connect films with grassroots outreach campaigns to help engage audiences. Headquartered in Southern California, the division has produced programming for public television, cable and satellite broadcast since its launch in 1999.
