The National Parks book cover

The photographs in this celebration of the National Park Service centennial come courtesy of veteran outdoor photographer Ian Shive. The recipient of the Sierra Club’s 2011 Ansel Adams Award for Conservation Photography, Shive is among the most talented wilderness photographers at work today. 

The images here all appear in his latest book, The National Parks: An American Legacy (Earth Aware Editions, 2016), which includes more than 200 never-before-seen pictures of the country’s parks.
