You've reveled in the supersize vistas of the Arctic, the Green Mountains' reborn wilds, and the squishily bountiful Gulf Coast in the September/October issue of Sierra. Thank you for coming to this page so that now you can help protect them!
Send a fax to the appropriate decision-maker by clicking on the links below. (Faxes get more attention than e-mail these days.) We hope you'll take the time to send all three.
1. Arctic National Wildlife Refuge: Send a fax to your congressional representatives. The vote coming up in early November is absolutely critical!
2. Green Mountains: Send a fax to Vermont senators Patrick Leahy and Jim Jeffords and representative Bernie Sanders and ask them to introduce a wilderness bill to protect the state's magnificent forests.
3. Gulf Coast: Send a fax to your congressional representatives and ask them to protect the Gulf of Mexico and other coastal waters from oil and gas drilling.
If you'd prefer to make a telephone call, contact your senators and representative via the U.S. Capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121.
If you want to send a handwritten letter, address it to your senators at the U.S. Senate, Washington, DC 20510 and your representative at the U.S. House of Representatives, Washington, DC 20515. You can look up your senator or representative's name online.
