Monumental, a film on a Sierra Club and environmental movement legend, David Brower.
|
by Adrienne Bramhall
The film festival started with a cliffhanger: Vertical Frontier, the history of climbing in Yosemite, opened the festival, with filmmaker Kristi Denton Cohen in attendance to field questions. During mid-day, attendance at the film festival grew to over 200 - standing room only! A lively Q-and-A session followed both The Real Dirt on Farmer John with John (Peterson) himself and director Taggert Siegel, and Affluenza, the classic consumption film with director John De Graaf. The day was capped by Monumental, a film on a Sierra Club and environmental movement legend, David Brower. Producer/director Kelly Duane was on hand to introduce. Several other films and shorts were shown and the weekend brings many more award winning films and presenting producers. The Film Festival is sponsored by Environmental Defense and Presented by The Wild and Scenic Film Festival and Sierra Club Productions. More: -- 09/09/2005 Fri |
