PV plus EV

The photovoltaic (PV) solar system provides Alan and Norma Williamson with comfortable living plus a zero electricity bill even with air conditioning (from a heat pump) during heat waves. In case of a blackout, we have a battery backup system that provides us limitless electricity with the sun shining, but only three days without sunshine. The two solar water heating panels eliminates the need for a natural gas water heater. The 100% zero emissions electric vehicle (EV) is charged in the garage from our solar electric system. Our EV, the 2002 Toyota RAV4 EV, goes 120 miles per charge and has never needed maintenance/repairs (except for tires and brake shoes). We heat the house up without natural gas using an electric heat pump. We offset approximately 21,000 to 40,000 pounds of carbon dioxide a year. Solar Now! Solar energy is forever!
