Alvey Bounces Sky High over the Laundry

In New Zealand, most people don't own dryers. Everyone has a clothesline, and they hang their laundry all year long. In winter it is often started outdoors, then moved inside to free-standing dry racks. When I visit my family in California, I'm amazed at how few clotheslines I see, especially with all that beautiful Californian sunshine --> free alternative energy for everyone! Imagine if 295 million Americans started hanging their laundry at least half the time...
