Fans Used as a Transition to AC

I use a window fan, as well as ceiling fans and open windows to keep my home comfortable. I use these until it gets so hot and humid (Memphis, TN) that I must go to the air conditioner. When I do use the AC, I set the thermostat at 78 degrees.
