A Special Place

For several years, the Sierra Club collected here stories and photos from Club members and supporters about special places outdoors. Big majestic places, like Yosemite National Park, or everyday places, like a shade tree in your backyard. A place that was special when you were growing up, or just last weekend. We thank the dozens of contributors who told us about their special places.

The Club has embarked on a grand new adventure online: we've created a social network. A hub of websites where you can participate in a growing community of people exploring, enjoying, and protecting the planet. For those of you who enjoyed the Special Place section of our website, please join this new community, called Climate Crossroads, then tell your stories and share photos in the Walkabout Group!
