What we know is that everyday human activities such as the burning of fossil fuels and rampant deforestation are increasing concentrations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. One of the worst culprits is the carbon dioxide spewing from our cars and power plants. CO2 is building up in the atmosphere, forming a "blanket" around the earth and causing the planet to warm.
