Vote for the Lone Star Hiking Trail!

The Sierra Club urges all members to vote via their internet connection for a wonderful project that will benefit the Lone Star Hiking Trail (LSHT) in Sam Houston National Forest.

The Lone Star Hiking Trail Conservancy, Inc., is one of 10 finalists for a Michelob Ultra Superior Trails Grant! This $25,0000 grant will be awarded by Michelob and the American Hiking Society to 2 of 10 trail proposals.

The LSHT proposal will refurbish trailheads on the LSHT with new signs, posts, railings, and gravel for parking lots.  The LSHT, 128 miles long, is the longest continuous hiking trail in the State of Texas and was founded and built by the Sierra Club.  The LSHT is used by backpackers, day hikers, hunters, birders, and others to enjoy Sam Houston National Forest which is about 60 miles north of Houston, Texas.

The 2 proposals that get the most votes at the end of the public voting period will each get a $25,000 award.  The voting period runs from September 1st - October 31st. You can vote every day, once per day.  Support the LSHT and hiking by voting every day at http://superiortrails.michelobultra.com.  Share this link on your Facebook wall and let all your friends know.  No purchase is necessary and voting is open to U.S. residents 21 or older.
