Support The Houston Regional Group

The Sierra Club - Houston Group is truly a "grassroots" organization.  We have no paid staff. One hundred percent of what we accomplish is due to the efforts of volunteers.  The Group also raises all of its operating funds locally.  It is through the generosity of those who participate in our fundraisers and those within and outside our organization who share our goals of a cleaner environment and responsible protection of our world's wild places that we are able to pursue our mission.

To Join the Houston Sierra Club, click use the "JOIN" button on the right hand side of the page. To Renew your membership, click the "RENEW" button. To Donate, click the "DONATE" button.

How can you contribute?

Houston has been known as "the belly of the beast: the home of oil and gas, a hotbed of unfettered capitalism."   Yet, the Sierra Club Houston Regional Group continues to thrive and be an effective force for change, whether it be for preserving the wetlands and estuaries of Galveston Bay, influencing development plans on the Katy Prairie or promoting mass transit alternatives.  Progress is made possible through your generous contributions.  Please contribute today.  We thank you for the vital role you play.

The Houston Sierra Club is a non-profit organization under Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(4).   Your contributions help support our effective, citizen-based advocacy and lobbying programs, and, therefore, are not tax-deductible.  Send your non-tax-deductible contribution payable to:

How You Can Help Us

Dear Houston Sierra Club Supporter,

It takes both volunteer dedication and money to keep our local work going. This year the Houston Group will receive no part of the annual dues paid by members to the national Sierra Club (in the past we have usually received about $2,500 each year). Although we are taking measures to reduce costs, we must fund meeting room costs and our vital conservation work via other means.

The Houston Sierra Club is one of the strongest defenders of our local environment.   We speak – we write – we act – we volunteer in defense of clean air and water, forest protection, a strong park system, trustworthy floodplain maps, and a healthy future for people and our patch of the Earth.

Contributions made from our website via PayPal go to the Sierra Club - Houston Group, a 501(c)(4) organization.
These contributions help support our effective, citizen-based advocacy and lobbying programs, and, therefore, are NOT tax-deductible.

For information on aiding conservation work in the Houston area through tax-deductible contributions, contact Treasurer Lorraine Gibson at raineygib@aol.com (281-384-4104).

Local Business Sponsors

Randalls

The Houston Sierra Club is an official member of the Good Neighbor Program sponsored by Randalls supermarkets.  When you use your Randalls Remarkable Card, one percent of your purchase benefits the Sierra Club and is earmarked for public education efforts in the Houston area.  Getting a card is easy:  apply at any Randalls.  After receiving your card, ask customer service to encode your card with the Club's number,  #1667.  Show your card at the Randalls check-out.

Kroger

If you shop at Kroger, you can help support the Houston Sierra Club's public education efforts in the Houston area by linking your Kroger Card to the Houston Sierra Club. This year Kroger re-organized their community giving process, and to participate in the new program shoppers need to get the Houston Sierra Club 'bar code" and have that scanned and linked to their Kroger card. This can be done by any Kroger cashier in a check-out line.  Click here to download the form you'll need (.pdf).

Sun & Ski Sports

The Houston Sierra Club is a part of "The Cash Back Rebate Program", a fundraising partnership with Sun & Ski Sports. A 5% Cash Back Rebate with every purchase made in any department benefits the Sierra Club and is earmarked for public education efforts in the Houston area when you present the tracking code: "0602". Keep the Sierra Club rebate code handy when you shop at Sun & Ski!
