Wanted: Individuals to build capacity for your Toiyabe Chapter — volunteer.

Here are some great opportunities for you to help us make the Toiyabe Chapter strong.

Political Committee: The Toiyabe Chapter wishes to be a factor in changing the political landscape for Nevada in the 2016 elections. The Political Committee needs dedicated club members to screen candidates for endorsement and to work for endorsed candidates in the election. We also are seeking volunteers interested in political work but who do not want to serve on the committee and who will carry out short-term political projects such as organizing candidate meet-and-greets, distributing campaign materials for Club-endorsed candidates, etc. People across the state are needed. Reply to Helen Purkitt (purkitt@gmail.com).

Candidates for the Chapter Executive Committee: The Executive Committee has nine elected positions, and elections are held in December of every year. Are you ready to help with running the business of the chapter, building chapter capacity, and promoting the Sierra Club mission in our area? Candidates can self-nominate and will be screened by the nominating committee. Reply to Anne Macquarie (annemacquarie@gmail.com) before October 26.

Website Conversion: An individual with working knowledge of the Drupal web platform is needed to convert the Great Basin Group website to that platform. Individual will work with national Sierra Club and local leaders to make the conversion. Volunteer desired but will also consider an Independent Contractor position with set fee for defined workscope. Reply to David von Seggern (vonseg1@sbcglobal.net).

Chapter Facebook Page: Are you a Facebook user or creator who can establish Facebook presence on the web for Toiyabe Chapter? This is a long-term volunteer position with a lot of autonomy to increase the web presence of our chapter and keep our issues visible in digital media.
