Legislation on timber imports has finally been incorporated into the ongoing Lacey Act of 1900 in order to ban illegally harvested wood products. This ban will help the fight against deforestation, which is a major cause of global warming. The Legal Timber Protection Act was incorporated in the 2008 Farm Bill by Congress. Find out more.
