Join people of faith in promoting land stewardship

Range Wars is an excellent tool for congregations, study groups, and individuals who wish to promote discussion about the consequences of our energy choices. Energy is an essential component of thriving communities, but over-reliance on fossil fuels has a tremendous impact on the planet and the life which it sustains, degrading air and water quality, destroying wildlife and human habitats, and forever altering magnificent landscapes.

The growing demand for energy places a burden on sensitive lands especially in the western United States. Recent decisions to lease public lands to oil and gas companies intensify the impacts, exemplified in this Sierra Club Chronicles episode, Range Wars.

Host a small group to view "Range Wars" and discuss land stewardship in your church. Order your free DVD here: http://www.sierraclub.org/tv/dvdoffer/

Resources for Discussion:

Study Guide: Rooted in God's Word and Lands
The National Council of Churches Eco-Justice Program recently developed a resource entitled, Rooted in God's Word and Lands, a guide for congregations, study groups, and individuals who wish to engage in faithful study and action on land stewardship. The resource addresses energy development, sustainable agriculture, urban sprawl, etc. (registration required to download)
