Fundraising Chair

The Fundraising Chair works with the Chapter Assistant Director and the Executive Committee to develop and implement the chapter’s fundraising program. Responsibilities include working with the Assistant Director to create and annual plan and a monthly planning calendar for fundraising events, attending fundraising training, and recruiting and working with a 3-5 person fundraising team. The Fundraising Chair serves as the contact for relevant member inquiries and responses, ordering necessary printed materials for fundraising, scheduling fundraising ads into the regular chapter and group newsletters, and helping to schedule Fundraising Team meetings. This role may also include facilitating merchandise sales, mailing fundraising appeals, and overseeing a Fundraising Events Coordinator. Applicants should enjoy meeting new people, going to social events, have project management or event planning experience, and demonstrate strong organizational skills. Requires 2-4 hours per week.

Virginia Climate Movement Online Organizer
We're looking for a volunteer to help create a stronger and more inclusive Climate Movement in VA! This position would 
maintain contacts and a contact list, 
plan events, reach out to climate organizers across state
and facilitate our monthly Virginia Climate Movement Calls. This volunteer would need to be comfortable with talking on the phone, 
passion for climate action and 
able to draft and send emails. This could be done from any part of our state over the internet. You will recieve training in Google Drive and in phone call facilitation. Are you interested? Do you know someone who is interested in this position? Contact Mary-Stuart Torbeck to find out more.
 
 
Equity and Environmental Justice Support Team
Work to assist Sierra Club local groups and the Virginia Chapter in implementing equity goals, creating and executing environmental justice campaigns and work to ensure the mission of the Sierra Club can be fulfilled by all who wish to do so.
