Get Involved!

Hope you see you on our trips in 2019!

We invite you to join the DC ICO Chapter and be part of an amazing experience with nature and children From hiking and camping, to river cleanups and environmental education, DC ICO takes children on a variety of outings in the Washington, DC area.

All these adventures help urban youth better understand the natural world around them and how they can make a difference, while providing an opportunity for volunteers to share their values and compassion, and positively impact the life of a child.

We are seeking volunteers (must be 18 years old or older) to assist us with providing these outings. Volunteers will assist certififed DC ICO leaders in transporting the kids to and from the outing location, making the meals for the children, and ensuring the trips are conducted safely. Volunteers who enjoy nature and who wish to share their knowledge and love of it with children growing up in an urban environment are encouraged to join our meet-up group.  View photos of past outings on smugmug!
