Burgerville Event

Burgerville LogoSierra Club and Burgerville Team Up for Kid-Friendly Earth Day

From 4 to 8 pm on Earth Day, the Cascade Park Burgerville will be donating 10% of all sales to the Sierra Club’s Loo Wit group. Collaboration for such an event comes naturally. In addition to being known for its use of local ingredients, Burgerville touts its environmental practices which include:

-recycling its used cooking oil into biofuel
-composting and recycling waste
-purchasing wind power credits equal to 100 percent of its electricity use

It was this last commitment that caught the eye of Brooks Berndt, the chair of the Conservation Committee for the Sierra Club’s Loo Wit group. He notes, “With headline news about local battles over proposed terminals for oil, propone, and coal, it is important to focus the public’s attention on clean alternatives to dirty energy.”
Burgerville shows that business leaders are passionate about clean energy. The Earth Day partnership highlights how clean energy has become an area of common concern and commitment for both businesses and environmental advocates. To make this Earth Day event kid-friendly, Burgerville is providing children with seeds, cups, and soil so that they can experience the joy of growing their own vegetables. Arts and craft activities will also be available.

Earth Day is on Wednesday, April 22nd. The Cascade Park Burgerville is the Burgerville that is closest to I-205 and Chkalov Drive. Its address is 11704 Southeast Mill Plain Boulevard, Vancouver, Washington 98684.
