Ebey Waterfront Park
Earth Walk Adventure is sponsored by the Sierra Club in Snohomish County,
along with many other groups. We are all using a water-based theme. Our booth
is addressing Water Quality Restoration in the National and State Forests.
There will be 12 booths spread along a 1.5-mile path, where children can
get 'stamps' in their passport for visiting each stop. The Sierra Club has
donated backpacks for a raffle for all the participants who gather all 12
'stamps.' These events run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Ebey Waterfront Park
is at 1404 1st St. At another location, the Jennings Park Barn, 6915 Armar
Rd., we will be showing short films on environmental topics, with free popcorn.
This event will be from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. There is no charge at either location.

Event: "Transportation Transformation"
What would a weekday commute look like if people left their personal
vehicles home and were biking, walking, or taking mass transit instead? Help
us give the Puget Sound a glimpse of the future. All of April, the Sierra
Club and partnering groups will be getting the word out that April 22nd is
a day for “transportation transformation.” For one day, we are
asking community members to leave their cars at home. On the morning of Tuesday,
April 22nd, volunteers will help pass out 5,000 appreciation booklets to
people getting on or off the bus, bikers, or pedestrians on their way to
work. Our
goal
is
to recognize 5,000 smart commuters on the morning of Earth Day and have them
pass on the transportation transformation buzz to their friends and co-workers.
Volunteer to help! We'll station
people at approximately 40 bus stops, the Sounder station, and 5-10 bike/
pedestrian trails. Join us! To volunteer or for more information, contact
James Irwin, James.Irwin@sierraclub.org or
(206) 378-0114 x320.
