America's Coasts Are No Place For Gas Drilling

Yesterday morning, Congress showed its commitment to protecting America's pristine beaches and coastlines from dirty oil and gas drilling. Members voted 39-25 to defeat an Interior Appropriations amendment introduced by Representative John Peterson (R-PA) that would have opened coastlines to natural gas exploration--a move that would effectively open the floodgates for oil drilling up and down our coasts.
