Fox Valley Group Executive Committee
The board, also known as the Executive Committee (ExCom), consists of 13 members. All of us are volunteers! We hope to see you at some of our events. Your appreciation for Sierra Club and your membership will increase with your personal level of involvement.
Some of our dedicated volunteers serve on the group's board of directors and provide monthly programs, frequent outings and projects, a quality newsletter, a website, and help facilitate things we believe our membership finds valuable and important. The board is elected, and it selects its officers. ExCom members are elected in December for three-year posts. For continuity, one-third (4 or 5) are elected each year. Vacancies created during the year or not filled during an election may be filled by appointment, approved by the ExCom. Nominations for the ExCom are handled by a temporary ExCom committee. Nomination essays and the election are done through the group newsletter, with ballots to be returned in late December. New positions begin in January. All Sierra Club members within the geographical boundaries of our group are eligible to vote. Ballots are distributed with our group newsletter. The elections are to select board members. At the January board meeting the board members select the officers and assign duties among themselves. ExCom members generally also serve on one or more committees. Other non-ExCom members may also serve on committees.

Monthly Program Meetings: Meetings of the Fox Valley Group are held the 2nd Thursday of each month (except July and August). Most meetings begin at 7:00, with the building opening around 6:30 for setup, socializing and snacks. Everyone is welcome. Most meetings are free. The meeting location is wheelchair accessible. Typical meetings consist of a short business meeting followed by an informative program, and of course, friendly visiting around the refreshment table. All meetings of the Fox Valley Group are open to the public.
Monthly Executive Committee Meetings: The board meets monthly, usually on the fourth Wednesday of the month. The location changes, usually at the home of one of the board members. All are welcomed to attend. Contact a board member to learn the location of the next meeting.
