Sierra Sage Hiking GroupThe Sierra Sage Group of South Orange County is a part of the Sierra Club, the nation’s oldest, largest and most influential grassroots environmental membership organization.  Our group is one of 14 regional groups within the Sierra Club’s Angeles Chapter representing the over 43,000 members of the Sierra Club residing in Orange and Los Angeles Counties.  Sierra Sage members live in the communities of Aliso Viejo, Coto de Caza, Dana Point, Ladera Ranch, Laguna Beach, Laguna Niguel, Laguna Woods, Lake Forest, Las Flores, Mission Viejo, Rancho Santa Margarita, San Clemente, San Juan Capistrano, and in Modjeska, Silverado and Trabuco Canyons.  Together with the Orange County and Rio Hondo groups we number almost ten thousand members throughout Orange County.

Get Involved

Concerned about climate change or other environmental or conservation issues in your neighborhood?  We educate, advocate, and take action to protect the environment.  Or maybe you wish your elected officials reflected your concerns?  We seek out, endorse, elect, and support environmental champions for local, state, and congressional offices.  Sierra Sage members also enjoy getting outdoors to explore our wilderness areas both local and far afield.  We help maintain the trails in our local areas.  And we have fun and make new friends while we protect, enjoy, and explore our planet.  Regardless of your interests or abilities, there is a place for you within the Sierra Sage community.  Together we are changemakers.  Together we are powerful.

Join us

Share the enthusiasm expressed in our motto explore, enjoy, and protect the planet and become a member.  Commit to our mission statement that urges us “to educate and enlist humanity to protect and restore the quality of the natural and human environment; and to use all lawful means to carry out these objectives.”
