Sierra Club Rocky Mountian Chapter's 2016 Endorsements

Here is the list of Colorado political candidates and amendments that the Rocky Mountain Chapter has endorsed. We believe these individuals will vote to protect our climate and treasured spaces, both in Colorado and across the nation.

  • State Initiatives
      • Endorse Amendment T
        • To eliminate reference to slavery in the state constitution. An important ally, the interfaith community, Together Colorado, is promoting this obviously progressive fix to the constitution.
      • Endorse Amendment 70
        • Will raise the Colorado minimum wage from $8.31 per hour to $12 per hour. Sierra Club supports mandatory living wages for workers. 
      • Endorse  Amendment 72
        • An increase on the cigarette tax. This would ultimately reduce litter and fires and improve air quality and public health.
      • Oppose Amendment 71
        • "Raise the Bar." This measure is intended to make it more difficult for citizens to pass initiatives when government fails to do its job.
