Sierra Club Chicago Announces Third Round of Aldermanic Endorsements in the Chicago Municipal Election

Chicago, IL. -- The Sierra Club Illinois Chapter PAC announced its third round of Aldermanic endorsements today in the Chicago municipal election. The following candidates have been endorsed: Representative Lamont Robinson (Ward 4), Desmon Yancy (Ward 5), Ana Guajardo (Ward 10), and Alder Nicole Lee (Ward 11). Our full list of endorsements can be found here

“With less than two weeks left until the April 4 run-off election, Sierra Club Chicago is throwing down to support additional aldermanic candidates in the race to City Hall,” said Sierra Club Chicago Political Chair David Teeghman. “The Chicago City Council needs as many environmental champions in office as possible if we’re going to tackle some of the most pressing issues of our time—decarbonizing our electric sector, protecting parks and open spaces, and ensuring all Chicagoans have access to safe and reliable public transportation. We’re excited to support Alder Nicole Lee, Representative Lamont Robinson, Desmon Yancy, and Ana Guajardo’s campaigns and work alongside them to ensure environmental justice priorities are front and center starting this summer.”

Ahead of the April 4 run-off election, Sierra Club Chicago members are hosting phonebanks and canvassing events to urge Sierra Club members to support environmental champions in the municipal election.

Sierra Club’s contacts with Illinois voters on behalf of endorsed candidates are funded by Sierra Club Illinois PAC. Copies of our reports are available from the State Board of Elections in Springfield, Illinois.
