Mission Statement

The Coastal Issues Committee advocates and educates for good stewardship of all coastal resources, sustainable land use, adherence to the provisions of the California Coastal Act and regulations of CEQA and other environmental laws, protection of endangered species and coastal wetlands. The Committee works in cooperation with other Chapter and Sierra Club entities as well as coalitions of allied organizations.

Current issues: Habitat restoration and preservation at Sharp Park golf course in Pacifica; Half Moon Bay proposed residential and commercial development; Beach Clean-ups; all conservation issues involving unincorporated coast-side San Mateo County.
