Tips to reduce Plastic Bag Pollution

Between 500 billion and a trillion plastic bags are consumed worldwide each year. These bags are used for an average of 12 minutes, but they remain in our landfills, oceans, parks and beaches for thousands of years. Plastic bags are costly, damaging to the enviroment, and easily avoided.  Check out the different ways you can reduce plastic bag pollution below.   

Reducing Plastic Bag Tips 

  • BYOB- Bring your own Bag to the grocery, market, or everywhere you shop.
  • Pack your lunch and store food in re-usable containers instead of disposable plastic bags.
  • Say NO to bags when you can carry what you have purchased.
  • Bring your own container for the Bulk Bin Items.
  • Put fruits and vegetables in a reusable bag.

Reduce even more Plastic Tips

  • Use re-usable water bottles instead of disposable plastic bottles.
  • Buy Items in non-plastic packaging like glass or paper instead of plastic.
  • Bring your own cup or coffe mug.
  • Say No to disposable Plastic Straws.
  • Don't use plasticware, bring your own fork (BYOF!).
