A Camping Opportunity for LGBTQIA+ Youth

In July 2025, Zephyr Point is running its 3rd year of kin-dom camp, a camp experience for LGBTQIA+ campers ages 12-17. At kin-dom camp, campers will have the chance to experience all the joys that camp has to offer in a week filled with affirmation, celebration, and FUN! Zephyr Point is right on the shore of Lake Tahoe, on the Nevada side of the lake.

There is a $650 fee for the one-week camp, but generous scholarships are available through Zephyr Point, and Reno ICO would be willing to chip in some support for campers representing our partner schools and organizations.

Also, Zephyr Point is looking to recruit up to 40 volunteer adults to join the camp. One of the best parts of kin-dom camp is that it provides the opportunity for youth to interact and build relationships with LGBTQIA+ identified adults. Any adults in your community who may be interested in serving as a volunteer can apply. For more information check out the kin-dom camp website or contact the Zephyr Point Recreation and Activity Coordinator, Shelby Thompson at sthompson@zephyrpoint.org
