Northern Nevada Youth are Invited to Join the Sierra Club Toiyabe Chapter Youth Council

The Toiyabe Chapter presents its first ever chapter-wide youth council. Are you passionate about the environment? Want to take action, build leadership skills, and connect with like-minded youth? The Sierra Club Toiyabe Chapter Youth Council is looking for dedicated students to lead the next generation of environmental advocacy. Any high schooler passionate about the environment is welcome!

Some of the goals of this youth council include:
 

  • Promoting Environmental Awareness – educating members and the community about environmental issues and the importance of sustainable practices.
  • Advocating for Change – working on initiatives that advocate for policy changes at the local or state level that benefit the environment.
  • Mobilizing Youth –  organizing events, campaigns, and projects that encourage community involvement and environmental action.
  • Fostering Collaboration creating a platform for like-minded individuals to connect, collaborate, and share ideas to amplify their impact.

Meetings would take place twice a month at times preferable to members. This council is a great way to get involved in your community and is also a great professional growth opportunity.
