Natural Leaders Network, que cuenta con unas 350 personas dedicadas a fomentar el medio ambiente, para pasar más tiempo rodeados de la naturaleza, es una iniciativa del Children & Nature Network, una organización sin fines de lucro fundada en el 2006 para conectar a los niños con el ecosistema en un mundo cada vez más desconectado.
Para unirse a la red de Natural Leaders, los participantes deben asistir al Legacy Camp, un entrenamiento que les permite convertirse en verdaderos líderes para fomentar la importancia de disfrutar y apreciar el aire libre en la comunidad en donde cada quien explica cómo la naturaleza les mejoró la vida.
Yesica Chavez, embajadora juvenil que aboga sobre la importancia de pasar tiempo a cielo abierto comenzó su camino en una organización llamada ELK (Environmental Learning for Kids). Hoy día, como estudiante universitaria, Chavez lidera programas y coordina excursiones para los estudiantes de ELK, sirviendo también como traductora, ya que espera que el idioma no vuelva a ser una barrera como lo fue con sus padres, inmigrantes mexicanos.
Nadia Córdoba, a quien la naturaleza le cambió la vida, se mudó de Argentina a Colorado a los 13 años. “Yo he sentido personalmente la sanación por parte de la naturaleza, y quiero que todo el mundo pueda sentir eso”. Córdoba empezó como voluntaria de UpaDowna , tras superar su miedo a las alturas haciendo alpinismo y escalando con el apoyo valiosísimo de los voluntarios de la organización.
CJ Goulding es el Gerente de Programas de Natural Leaders Network. En sus propias palabras, “las constelaciones no se crean solo de la fuerza de la estrella que más brilla. Las constelaciones son grupos de estrellas que se unen para un propósito mayor”.

Let's Go Out and Be Kids
Natural Leaders Network, which has about 350 people dedicated to promoting the environment and spending more time surrounded by nature, is an initiative of the Children & Nature Network, a non-profit organization founded in 2006 to connect children with the ecosystem in a world increasingly disconnected.
To join the Natural Leaders Network, participants must attend the Legacy Camp, a training that allows them to become true leaders in promoting the importance of enjoying and appreciating the outdoors in the community, where everyone explains how nature improved their lives.
Yesica Chavez, a youth ambassador who advocates the importance of spending time in the open, began her journey in an organization called ELK (Environmental Learning for Kids). Today, as a university student, Chavez leads programs and coordinates field trips for ELK students, also serving as a translator, since she hopes that language will not be a barrier again as it was with her parents, Mexican immigrants.
Nadia Córdoba, to whom nature changed her life, moved from Argentina to Colorado at age 13. "I have personally felt healing from nature, and I want everyone to feel that." Córdoba started volunteering at UpaDowna, after overcoming her fear of heights by hiking and climbing with the invaluable support of the organization's volunteers.
CJ Goulding is the Program Manager of the Natural Leaders Network. In his own words, "Constellations are not created solely by the strength of the brightest star. Constellations are groups of stars that come together for a greater purpose. "
