January Speaker Series: Climate and Equity in Illinois A to Z

Join us for our next monthly speaker series — Climate and Equity in Illinois A to Z — on Tuesday, January 10 at 6:30pm! We'll be joined by Sally Burgess, Downstate Organizing Manager with Sierra Club Illinois, Virginia Woulfe-Beile, co-Coordinator of the Three Rivers Project of Sierra Club Illinois, and Diana Karin of Alton Yard Farms. These three speakers will share how the Climate and Equitable Jobs Act (CEJA) is being implemented across Illinois. CEJA is nation-leading climate and equity legislation that promises to bring training and jobs to communities in and around the Metro East, as well as accelerate the transition away from a fossil fuel economy to renewable energy. All three speakers have trained as CEJA ambassadors and are deeply committed to helping others better understand this 900-page piece of legislation!

The Speaker Series will be held in-person at the Old Bakery Beer Company at 400 Landmarks Boulevard in Alton, Illinois. Attendees and friends are invited to have dinner and meet the speakers at the Old Bakery Beer Company at 5:00pm. The speaking program will begin at 6:30pm in the room adjacent to Old Bakery Beer Company's dining room. There is a virtual option to tune into the speaking program via Zoom for folks who are unable to join us in-person. Register here to join us (either virtually or in-person) for our January Speaker Series to learn more about the Climate and Equitable Jobs Act!
