Sierra Club Endorses Michaud For Maine Governor
At a news conference on Nov. 25, the Sierra Club announced its endorsement of Rep. Mike Michaud to replace Paul LePage to be Maine’s next governor. Sierra Club’s Maine Chapter leaders said that he is the best candidate to restore Maine’s leadership in protecting our environment and transitioning to a more prosperous, clean energy economy.
“Mike Michaud shares Mainers’ conservation values, and he understands that protecting our precious environment and public health is critical to Maine’s economic vitality,” said Melissa Walsh Innes, Sierra Club Maine’s Political Team Chair and former Maine state legislator. “With his valuable experience as a state and federal legislator, and his deeply-felt desire to serve the public interest, Mike will be a great governor to lead Maine.”
