The Waters and Wetlands Stewards are continuing to meet and monitor key issues such as wake boats, road salt, lead in drinking water, and PFAS pollution. Our chair, Steve Ring, recently testified on Reducing Lead in Schools (HF 347), and other members of our team are working to track bills in the legislature and share updates and news with our members. We're keeping an eye on the proposed Elko New Market Niagara Bottling Plant, and also on the Bronze Foundation's request to preserve all 18 holes of Hiawatha Golf Course, which, according to the Friends of Lake Hiawatha, will not protect the lake, its wildlife, or its ecology. As always, we welcome new members and new ideas!
