ECOLOGICAL/ECONOMIC CONFERENCE on FOOD and WATER

On May 6, 2006, Miriam Therese MacGillis, OP, will present a program on choices we make concerning food and water. All living beings are sustained by the food and water created for the total well being of our planet. This supply is limited. The choice to support ecologically sound systems of food production and water preservation enables one to discern the true cost of sustaining oneself.

Miriam co-founded Genesis Farm in 1980 in Blairstown, New Jersey. The farm practices Biodynamic methods of agriculture and provides Community Supported Agriculture. An Earth Literacy program offers accreditation for undergraduate and graduate students.

"Not by Bread Alone: The True Cost of Our Daily Bread" will be presented on Saturday, May 6, 2006 from 8:30am - 3:30pm. At the May Center (on the DePaul Medical campus) 12303 DePaul Drive, Bridgeton, Mo, 63044. Program fee includes morning coffee and lunch. Fee is $15.00 in advance, $20.00 at the door. By April 21st, please make out your check payable to IEC (Intercommunity Ecological Council) of Mary Clare Hale, 1100 Bellevue Avenue, St. Louis, Mo, 63117-1826. Inquires Judith A. Bell, FSM at (314) 768-1828.
