8th Annual Car Camping Fall Celebration & Steve Finch Memorial Campout at Hawn State Park

Friday, September 25 through Sunday, September. 27

It's not really a memorial campout but it's been so long since we saw Steve it feels like he's gone to the Great Campground in the Sky.

Great for beginner campers and families. Bring your own gear and food.

Call if you need advice or suggestions. You are also welcome to come for short, laid-back day hikes if you don't want to camp. Small camping fee to be determined.

Bring sense of humor and musical instruments for sing-along.

Call George Behrens at 314-821-0247 for more information.

Energy Fair Coming in September

The annual Earthways House Green Homes and Energy Fair is September 26. For more information on attending or to volunteer to represent Sierra Club at the event, contact Henry Robertson, Energy Committee Chair, at 314-647-5603 hrbtsn@aol.com

Lemonade Brigade Turning Lemons Into Lemonade at Festival of the Little Hills

Aug 21-23, Fri-Sun: Join us for a few hours and a great time making real lemonade with other Sierrans at a charming fair in the historic area of St. Charles near the riverfront.

This is a great way for new members to meet other members, get involved, and help raise money all in one fell swoop!

It is also one of our main fundraising avenues since we no longer do Fair St. Louis or the Spirit Air Show.

Please contact Jim Young at (314) 664-9392, or the Sierra Club Office at (314) 644-0890 for more information or to volunteer.

New National Parks Documentary Coming to PBS

Scheduled for September, PBS will air a new 12-hour, six-part documentary series, directed by Ken Burns: National Parks: America's Best Idea. Sierra Club is excited about the series (and proud to be an outreach partner).

You can learn more about the series, download some nifty wallpaper and other widgets, and even pre-order a DVD from the series website www.pbs.org/nationalparks/
