Green Time is St. Louis' environmental cable TV show. On the air since 1996, Green Time is produced by the Gateway Green Alliance in conjunction with KDHX-TV. It airs on Chanel 21 in the City of St. Louis at these times:

Mondays    8:30 p.m.
Wednesdays    7:00 p.m.
Saturdays    2:30 p.m.
Sundays    6:00 p.m.

Green Time covers topics such as urban parks, the natural space surrounding St. Louis, climate change, deforestation, peak oil, healthy eating, CAFOs, green building, using less energy, and environmental racism. It looks at the effects of lead, dioxin, and pesticides, and other toxins. Green Time explores animal rights, questions genetic engineering of foods, and challenges nuclear power and the automobile.

In addition to featuring the most recent and best DVDs on the environment, Green Time hosts guests who teach at Washington University, Webster University, UMSL, SLU and area community colleges. Guests are from the Greens, Sierra Club, Missouri Coalition for the Environment, Missouri Votes Conservation, the state legislature, as well as area businesses, unions, farmers, physicians, nurses, and midwives.

Have we missed any topics? If so, it's because you haven't suggested them to us. Contact Producer Don Fitz at fitzdon@aol.com or 314-727-8554 to suggest topics, guests, or documentaries you would like to see on Green Time.

Would you like to receive training to help produce Green Time? The show is looking for people to operate cameras and the soundboard, set up lights, coordinate technical production, shoot footage in the field, research and host episodes, and edit the finished product. Everyone is welcome, but those with computer skills are particularly in need.
