Sierra Club Board of Directors Election Each spring, Sierra Club members elect five people to the 15-member, all-volunteer board of directors that governs the organization. This year's ballot included eight candidates for the 2016-19 term. Here are the results:

  • Susana Reyes (35,750 votes): The L.A. mayor's senior sustainability analyst, who has filled numerous Sierra Club leadership positions.
  • David Scott (30,488 votes): A civil rights attorney and previous board president.
  • Robin Mann (28,069 votes): A longtime environmental activist and board vice president this past year.
  • Mike O'Brien (26,999 votes): A Seattle city council member new to the board.
  • Chuck Frank (26,814 votes): An investor and entrepreneur first elected to the board in 2013.

Aaron Mair and Robin Mann will continue as president and vice president, respectively, while Susana Reyes will continue as secretary. Liz Walsh has been named treasurer, and Loren Blackford has been named fifth officer.

"I want to thank our grassroots members for their participation in this election, which is essential to our efforts to build a diverse and inclusive movement of climate and wilderness activists," board president Mair says.
