Energy

Wyoming is facing a huge challenge: how can we successfully move away from an economy that is overwhelmingly based on fossil fuels? We don’t pretend to have all the answers, but we do know that we must make sure we don’t sacrifice our most sensitive landscapes, our remaining undeveloped areas, to a last big push to develop dirty fossil fuels. While our Wyoming decision makers hunker down and vow to fight to the bitter end for fossil fuels, the world moves on toward a clean energy future. The question is, what will we be left with here in Wyoming? Will we still have the Wyoming we love, with herds of pronghorn antelope, mule deer, and elk freely moving along ancient migration pathways? Will we still see sage grouse throughout sagebrush basins, and moose along willow-choked stream bottoms?
