Welcome to the Tampa Bay Group

Tampa Bay is one of 15 groups of the Florida Sierra Club Chapter and is made up members and supporters of the environment who primarily live in Hillsborough and southeastern Pasco counties. 

Our focus is on enjoying, learning about, and protecting Florida's natural resources, conservation, local growth management, and and environmental equity.

We educate members and the public on subjects such as:

• Wildlife habitat needs
• Climate change, resilience and sustainable living
• Clean and renewable energy
• PFAS (non-degradable plastics) and recycling
• Sustainable public transportation
• Smart use of our water resources
• Importance of supporting and enhancing neighborhoods and communities

We give members and the public ways to speak out.

Upcoming Events

Annual Joint Meeting and Potluck Dinner

 Annual joint meeting of  Tampa Bay Sierra Club, Tampa Bay Audubon, and The Suncoast Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society, this year's host. This year's program is "Live Wildly: Balancing Florida’s Economy and Ecology for a Thriving Future" featuring Meredith Budd, deputy director of the Live Wildly Foundation. The foundation works to advance long-term conservation of Florida's lands and waters through the permanent protection of the Florida Wildlife Corridor.

Live Wildly is building a statewide movement that brings together partners across sectors, ensuring Florida remains a place where people and nature can thrive. This talk will explore how connections -- to nature, to place, and to each other — can drive lasting conservation impact and support a resilient, prosperous future for the state.
