Cuyamaca State Park Campout

Camp for three nights at Paso Picacho group tent campsite set in an oak woodland forest at an elevation of 5,000 feet with drinking water, flush toilets, pay showers, picnic tables and shade ramada. Day hikes include summiting Stonewall Peak (4 miles and 800’ gain) for breathtaking views and Azalea Glen Loop (6 miles and 700’ gain) a meander through the regenerating forest. Other hikes may include a saunter and picnic at Stonewall Mine, an introductory walk along the Nature Trail and a short hike to a waterfall.  

The town of Julian is less than half an hour drive from the campsite. Even closer is Lake Cuyamaca where boating, fishing and a pub are available. A visit to the California Wolf Center is an option which can be arranged by each camper
