Kristy Sandoval is a Los Angeles based artist from Pacoima, California. Her work consists of painting murals both on her own and with community collaborations. She is an activist artist working to bring workshops, public art projects and cultural events to neighborhoods that are overlooked.
With experience on a local, national and global level she brings unique approaches to engaging audiences of all ages to dive into their creativity. In 2012 she and other artists worked to build Mural Mile in Pacoima changing the reputation of the area and helping build a muralist network.
Her themes tell stories of our history through a social justice lens, a woman empowerment focus, and environmental impact awareness.
A native of Pacoima who spent time in San Francisco attending the Academy of Art University studying Interactive Media Design. Kristy is a mom of one teen and one pup and enjoys spending her free time outdoors exploring nature and riding her bike.
Kristy will be working with the Latino Conservation Week Committee to design and produce a community artwork.
