Cuyamaca Rancho State Park Campout

Camp for three restorative nights (Thursday to Sunday) at Paso Picacho group tent campsite set in an oak woodland forest at 5,000'. Geologist Jay Schneider will describe the processes that made this area so incredible. Day hikes include summiting Stonewall Peak for breathtaking views and Azalea Glen Loop for a meander through the regenerating forest. Other hikes may include a saunter and picnic at Stonewall Mine, an introductory walk along the Nature Trail and a short hike to a waterfall.  The town of Julian (famous for apple pie) is less than half an hour drive from the campsite. Even closer is Lake Cuyamaca where boating, fishing and a pub are available.
